During the morning of July 7th 2021, MediaVerse had a space at Mobile Week as part of the Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2021. The event was held at TecnoCampus Mataró in Spain.
The concept of Mobile Week was born with the aim of offering citizens a space in which to actively participate in the changes brought about by technological innovations. It is with this in mind, that the MediaVerse space was launched by our partners at the TransMedia Catalonia research group (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona).
With a focus on audiovisual media accessibility, the group investigate ways to make innovative technologies more inclusive from the point of design. Human interaction with technology has been a global experience shared by all during the pandemic. The lessons learnt have led to the development of the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda for the post-COVID era, and “Leaving no one behind” is the second principle on the agenda.
A showroom was created where participants could learn about and interact with a range of technologies. Participants were offered the opportunity to use 360° cameras and the MediaVerse immersive authoring tool Fader created by Vragments.
In this short immersive experience created by Victor Garcia (UAB), you can explore the space at the event and hear testimonials from some of the participants.
